(November 6th ) PERFECT ENDING

Last night I went to the perfect ending for my video! 

We were enjoying with some friends  the "ooh" and "aah" of London's fireworks displays they were dancing uo in the skiesat the rythm of the songs, which are a good idea for my video as well. 

PROCRASTINATION QUEEN

I still keep leaving things for the last minute. Once when I asked to my multimedia tutor if it was ok to post the blogs with the dates at the side and he said it was alright just because he saw my notebook with my notes and dates that I was going to post. Well, today it’s the dead line and I’m posting them all now… not proud but it looks good all done. 

(December 27th) WHERE IS MY MATERIAL

I cannot find anywhere the video I made from Justine and Alfie (another of my flat mates). I guess I will have to omit these shots from my video, as they are gone, we already had our emotional farewell and I am not going to see them again.

I never did the shots of the rest of the flat mates so It will be just Emma and John on it.

I will keep on looking between the million of pictures and videos I have 

(December 12th) John not even close Church

Tomorrow it is the last day of classes and some of my flat mates will be gone and I still don’t have the videos of them!!!!!!!!!!!! So I don’t care if they don’t want to speak at least I want a picture of them in a close up shot for my task!

John Church, this guy is the farthest of a Sunday Church guy, he is lovely but did not wanted to made the video, I had to black mail him. Just kidding. So finally he speak in front of the camera now I have to cut the parts I don’t need. 

(December 10th) Crazy Emma

I am always with Emma Woolf she’s one of my best friends here in London and we have plenty of pictures together but none of them are professionally taken for my video. Tonight I was with my camera on the kitchen so I forced her (do not judge me ethically is just a way of saying it) to speak to the camera I think I got what I needed it. A natural close up shot with just a few words.

(December 9th) Keep checking

Today we had a test in class, I made some mistakes but I think I did it well after all. I was the last even I finished it after the first 10 minutes I wanted to keep checking till the time was over. I always do that, its’ just me.

In the afternoon I went to the computer room and did a new video because the ones I did before were lost along with my pen drive, but it does not matter because they were just drafts. 

(November 25th) Just a guide not my final faith

I forgot my pen drive with my collected material for my movie in the flat so I could not practice in the computer room with those, but I was playing with the editing tools. 

Later on, after another lecture I went to the computer room now with my pen drive (or how here in England call it USB stick drive). I decided I need new pictures of some places, like Buckingham palace. 

I ask the tutor Florian If I could add some shots that are not on the storyboard but are part of my scenes stated in my script and he said it was ok because the storyboard is just as a guide. And that’s how I’m using it, to focus on the main ideas but I´ll be adding and deleting shots here and there. 

(October 31st) Adobe Premier Pro CC

The final assignment of multimedia lecture is a project and of all the programs I choose Adobe Premier Pro CC because as soon as I knew what it was about I already knew what my topic would be! Off course “My London experience” so convenient. It is so much harder than Windows Movie Maker the one I tend to use to do movies for my friends or class presentations. It has several editing tools and also… the program is in English. I believe I am good with this language but it is technical words that make me use google translator while using the program!

I want to do a sneak preview of what could be a movie of my abroad experience, like a trailer in which the audience can tell that as well as difficulties exist, there is so much fun and amazing time getting to know new places meeting new people and making lifelong friendship.

The tutor said we could download the program: https://creative.adobe.com/products/premiere, but my laptop SONY VAIO is already very slow so I won’t, and I will just do it on the computer rooms of the university J

(November 18th) Storyboard

They are not the best drawings but I am proud J they look a lot like some shots I have! Even though I put more seconds in each  shot because I am not showing just one picture, it also will be a short video or several pictures for the same location.

(November 13th) Steady

Myriam, my friend from Ecuador that is with me also in an exchange program , hired a tripod to have steady shots. I think I´ll be using it with her for some good ones and she will be using my camera as well.

(November 12th) Justine!!!

Just found out Justine writes scripts all the time just for fun! I would have like to know that before so she could help me! She is one of my flat mates and she is always with her notebook and a color pen, usually pink or blue. She always says it is fiction what she writes. Then I told her that I finally submitted my script and that’s when she told me scripts are her hobby. Oh well, next time… 

(November 10th ) Script

I have always heard about script writers, I also have friends that went to study that to USA but in fact, I haven’t ever read one till I got this assignment and  it was explained in the class of October 21^st.  It requires so much imagination and creativity in order to make the movie interesting, catchy and you also have to decide if you want to entertain, to inform or anything, etc. In my case I want to do both.

In the class of October 29^th storyboards were introduced. While the lecture was taking place I was wondering what I should include and that I really wanted to make good drawings with lots of colors.

Tomorrow is the due date of submitting my script I hope it is alright. I love how the cover page looks because of the line “Written

by Nicole Sánchez Figueroa”.

(November 1st) NIKON NIKON NIKON

I am so happy because I have been using my own new brand professional camera a Nikon D5100 to take pictures and making videos all around! Pictures look amazing and you can see more details than with my I-phone off course!

(September 29th ) What to expect..

I am a medicine student, what am I doing in a multimedia lecture that does not have anything to do with human body.

My university UEES back home in Ecuador want you as student to have a broad curriculum in which you not only have to attend science classes but also classes of other area of expertise. I could choose which subjects to attend, and multimedia certainly is not the easier one for me, so I accepted it as a challenge. I have a lot of subjects this term I just have to organize my time for them all and also to get to know London.  I am going to see what is going to happen I hope it is not hard, but I least I know it is not about writing/creating JAVA codes. I used to do that in high school and it was the most difficult subject of them all!!
